One of the most pretigious universitie in the U.S. is Stanford University. It is also one of the most expensive ones to attend unless you are on some kind of scholarship or grant of some kind. However when it comes to clean energy and specifically solar power, Stanford makes some of the their lectures available to anyone over the internet.
The also have a distance learning program for things like graduate certificates in renewable energy storage and other clean energy topics. These are however not for free.
This lecture may be called introductory but it is far from basic. It cover some very advanced topics in the field of solar energy technology.
This Standford University Lecture on the Fundamentals of Solar Energy is Free!
As part of the Global Climate and Energy Project’s 6th Annual Research Symposium at Stanford University, Nate Lewis, a professor of chemistry at Caltech, provides a beginner’s overview of the concepts behind solar energy generation as well as the current state of the art and its potential role in future energy production.
